Myomectomy

Myomectomy is a surgical removal of uterine fibroids known as leiomyomas, which are noncancerous growths in the uterus. This surgery leaves the uterus intact thus helps women to preserve their uterus and potential of future pregnancy, as it. It also aids to address symptoms like heavy bleeding, pain, or pressure.

The choice of technique of myomectomy depends on the fibroid’s size, number, and location.

Types of Myomectomy:

➔Hysteroscopic: Used for removal of fibroids inside the uterine cavity.

➔Laparoscopic: A minimally invasive procedure which is done using small incisions.

➔Robotic-assisted: A type of laparoscopic surgery that uses robotic technology for precision.

➔Abdominal (laparotomy): It is an open surgery involving a larger incision, typically for larger or more complex fibroids.
