Laparoscopy

Gynaecologic laparoscopy is a minimally invasive surgical technique that is used for diagnosis and treatment of various Gynaecological conditions, using a laparoscope (a thin tube with light and a camera) that is inserted through small incisions. It is used for various procedures, offering benefits like less pain, smaller scars, and a faster recovery time.

The key uses

➔Diagnostic laparoscopy: Investigation of pelvic pain or infertility when imaging fails to give conclusive results.

➔Endometriosis treatment: Remove or destroy endometrial tissue growing outside the uterus.

➔Ovarian cystectomy: Removal of ovarian cysts without damage to the ovary.

➔Myomectomy: Surgical removal of uterine fibroids while keeping the uterus intact.

➔Hysterectomy: Removal of the uterus, performed laparoscopically as a less invasive alternative to traditional surgery.

➔Tubal ligation: A permanent form of birth control that involves the sealing or cutting of the fallopian tubes.
