Donor Egg Services
Donor egg services use eggs from, often a young, healthy woman, a donor, to couples conceive using IVF. The process involves identification of a donor, retrieving her eggs by hormonal stimulation, fertilizing the egg with sperm in a lab to develop it to an embryo and then transferring the embryos to the intended mother.
These services are typically for those unable to produce viable eggs due to age, medical conditions, or genetic concerns

The steps involved are:
- Donor selection: Potential donors are screened for medical, genetic, and psychological health, and their profiles are made available to intended parents.
- Ovarian stimulation: The donor takes fertility medications to produce multiple eggs.
- Egg retrieval: Eggs are retrieved, surgically, from the donor’s ovaries.
- Fertilization: The retrieved eggs are fertilized with sperm from the intended father or a sperm donor in a laboratory.
- Embryo culture and transfer: The fertilized eggs are cultured, and the resulting embryos are then transferred to the intended mother’s uterus.
