Embryo Transfer
Embryo transfer is a procedure in assisted reproduction, typically part of the In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) process, where fertilized eggs (embryos) are placed into a woman’s uterus with the goal of achieving pregnancy. It involves loading one or more embryos into a thin catheter, guiding it through the cervix into the uterus, and gently releasing them, often with the assistance of a pelvic ultrasound for precise placement. This can be done with fresh embryos a few days after egg retrieval or with pre-frozen embryos in a Frozen Embryo Transfer (FET) cycle.
