Liver cancer includes
- Hepatocellular carcinoma: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the most common type of primary liver cancer, which develops the main cells of the liver called hepatocytes. It usually affects individuals suffering from chronic liver disease, like cirrhosis caused by hepatitis B or C infections.
- Bile duct cancer (Cholangiocarcinoma):
Bile duct cancer, also known as cholangiocarcinoma, is a cancer that develops in the bile ducts,
which carry bile from the liver to the small intestine.
Types of Bile Duct Cancer:
- Intrahepatic Cholangiocarcinoma
- Hilar or Perihilar Cholangiocarcinoma
- Distal Cholangiocarcinoma
- Hepatoblastoma:
Hepatoblastoma is the most common liver cancer diagnosed in children under 3 years of age.
